How Mersal Pricing Works

Your total cost on Mersal consists of two parts:

1) Mersal Subscription

This is the monthly or annual fee you pay to use the Mersal platform and its features, such as:

• WhatsApp Business API onboarding & management

• SMS campaigns and automations

• Contact management, inbox, analytics, and integrations
  The subscription price depends on the plan you choose.

2) Messaging Usage (WhatsApp & SMS)

WhatsApp messaging (billed by Meta)

WhatsApp message fees are charged based on:

• Message category (Marketing, Utility, Authentication, Service)

• Recipient country

These rates are set by Meta (WhatsApp).
During onboarding, you connect your own payment method in Meta, and Meta bills your WhatsApp usage directly.
Mersal does not add any markup on Meta WhatsApp fees.
You are typically charged only for successfully delivered messages, and some replies within an active customer service window may not incur additional charges.

SMS messaging (billed by Mersal)

SMS messages are charged per message based on destination and volume, with the same SMS rates for all plans.
SMS usage is deducted from your Mersal SMS wallet, and your balance and usage history are shown clearly in reports.

In short:

Total cost = Mersal subscription + SMS usage (Mersal wallet) + WhatsApp usage (billed by Meta)
Message pricing is transparent, and WhatsApp fees follow Meta’s official rates (no markup).

No. There is no setup fee for using the WhatsApp Business API with Mersal.
We provide access to the official WhatsApp Business API at no additional cost as part of the onboarding process.

You can complete the entire WhatsApp onboarding directly through Mersal:

• Register your business phone number

• Verify ownership using OTP

• Complete Meta business verification (if required)

• Submit and manage message templates

Mersal guides you through each step until activation.

Yes, as long as you own the number and it’s not actively used on the WhatsApp consumer app. The number will be connected to WhatsApp Business API through Meta.

• You can send:
• Marketing messages (promotions, offers)
• Utility messages (order updates, confirmations)
• Service messages (customer replies within the 24-hour window)
• All outbound template messages require Meta approval.

Meta charges per delivered message, based on recipient country and message category. Meta bills your connected payment method directly.

Yes. WhatsApp applies a daily messaging limit based on a rolling 24-hour window. The limit depends on your number’s status, quality rating, and how often you start conversations with new customers.

New numbers usually start with a lower limit, which increases over time as your business is verified and maintains good messaging quality. Higher limits are unlocked automatically by WhatsApp based on usage.

Note: These limits are set by WhatsApp, not Mersal. Changing your Mersal plan does not affect your daily messaging limit.

Message templates are pre-approved messages used to start conversations with customers on WhatsApp. You create them once, add variables (like names or order details), and reuse them to message multiple contacts.

WhatsApp requires templates when a business starts a conversation with a customer. Before using a template, it must be approved by WhatsApp to ensure it follows their guidelines.
