Important billing note: For WhatsApp Business API usage, customers connect and manage their payment method directly within Meta during onboarding. Mersal does not collect or store your WhatsApp payment method details.
Our users (business customers) may upload or generate customer data (“Customer Data”) including:
Phone numbers and contact details
Message content, message metadata, and delivery/status logs
Labels, lists, and custom attributes
You are the data controller.
Mersal acts as a data processor and processes Customer Data only in accordance with your instructions and for the purpose of providing the Services.
When you use the Services, we may automatically collect:

Usage logs and system activity
Cookies and similar technologies
We use data to:
Provide messaging, onboarding, and automation services
Execute user instructions and deliver requested functionality

Mersal does not obtain consent from message recipients on behalf of customers. Customers are responsible for obtaining and maintaining lawful opt-in consent where required.
By using the platform, you confirm that:
You have obtained lawful opt-in consent (where required by law and policy)
Your messages comply with applicable laws, regulations, and Meta/WhatsApp policies
Opt-out mechanisms are respected where applicable
You will not use Mersal to send unlawful, abusive, or prohibited content
Mersal does not sell, rent, or provide contact databases.
Mersal integrates with third-party platforms and service providers, which may include:
Meta Platforms, Inc. (WhatsApp Business API)
Telecom operators and messaging carriers
Cloud infrastructure and hosting providers
Payment processors (for Mersal subscription and SMS wallet transactions)
Businesses connect and manage phone numbers they own and control. Mersal does not provide hosted WhatsApp phone numbers.
WhatsApp messaging is subject to Meta policies, including (where applicable) template requirements and the 24-hour customer service window for non-template messages.
WhatsApp billing: WhatsApp usage fees are billed by Meta directly to the payment method you connect within Meta during onboarding. Mersal may display usage and estimated costs for reporting purposes, but does not process WhatsApp usage charges.
Message delivery, pricing models, availability, and certain operational limitations are governed by third-party platforms. Mersal does not control their policies or operations.
We do not sell personal data.
We may share data only with:
Messaging and telecom providers (to deliver messages)
Meta/WhatsApp (to enable WhatsApp onboarding, templates, and messaging functionality)
Infrastructure and hosting partners (to operate the Services)

Account data is retained while your account is active.
Message logs and delivery reports may be retained for up to 24 months for analytics, troubleshooting, compliance, and dispute resolution, unless a longer period is required by law.
Deletion requests may be subject to legal obligations and backup retention cycles.
We use industry-standard safeguards such as access controls, encryption in transit, and monitoring to protect data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
